Almost a decade of Cape York trail
bike tour experience
*'conquer the cape' -
Aimed at the less experienced entry level rider. You will definitely not miss out on any of the major attractions Cape York has to offer such as enjoying the amazing scenery of Lakefield N.P, exploring the amazing trails through the pre historic Daintree Rain forest, and wash the dust off in the picturesque swimming holes on the way at Eliot and Fruit Bat Falls.
The tour will be taking all of our ‘B track options’ these are more scenic trails that you can ride at your own pace but still have a few challenges so your ride is safe, enjoyable and interesting.
how our tours run
As we make our way from Cairns to the tip of Australia we will cover roughly 1500kms of the most amazing trails and tracks that the regions has to offer. Watch as the country changes dramatically from day to day as we explore areas like the pre historic rainforests of the Daintree to the wide open plains of Lakefield N.P. We will discover the history Far North QLD as we visit places like Cooktown, The iconic Lions Den hotel and the old Morton Telegraph Station.
The riding is ever changing and fun as every day and wouldn’t be a trip to Cape York with tackling the tracks that have made the place a ‘bucket list’ trip such as the Old Telegraph Track, CREB Track, Frenchman’s Track and Starke Track. With exclusive access to private stations and aboriginal land throughout the tour this makes for a unique adventure as we get you off the normal tourist routes and experience some of the places of Cape York that are rarely visited.
Our fleet of trail bikes are all current Model Suzuki DRZ400’s equipped with everything required for a trip to Cape York. From the second you are picked up from your accommodation until your return you can relax knowing everything is taken care of by the staff and crew at Ellwood Motorcycle Adventures. The guides on tour are qualified first Aiders and carry a Satellite Phone and EPIRB in case of an emergency situation or bike breakdown. There is also a tracking device carried by the guides which tracks the tour in real time so any family and friends at home can follow the adventure on an easy to use App.
There is some down time once we get to the tip to relax and explore around loyalty beach with opportunities to hire a boat and fishing gear from our accommodation and head out to look around the beautiful Torres Strait islands, try hook a tuna or spot a local croc.
We have stringent health, safety and environmental plans in place throughout the whole tour and safety to our customers, work crew and the environment we encounter/ride through is out top priority.
Our tours cater for any skill level from someone who has had limited trail bike experience to a seasoned rider on the same tour. Our guides are experienced in assessing rider ability and choose trails that will best suit the riders on tour. There are always options throughout everyday for ‘A’ and ‘B’ tracks so everyone can enjoy themselves. We also have a support vehicle which the tour group meets at the end of each days ride that carries all the supplies, camping equipment personal items for everyone on tour.
