This once-a-year ride is packed with bucket-list moments, from Uluru, Kings Canyon, and Dalhousie Springs to a wild stretch of the Finke Desert Racetrack — all in one epic week. You’ll experience sunrise and sunset at Uluru and Kata Tjuta, hike through the jaw-dropping cliffs of Kings Canyon, and soak in the remote thermal pools of Dalhousie Springs. Ride through ancient country in Finke Gorge National Park, stop in at the legendary Mt Dare Hotel for a cold beer and a yarn, and fly high above the desert on a private charter flight over the Red Centre. With exclusive access to massive private cattle stations, nights spent around the campfire under a billion stars, and full support from our crew — including fuel, meals, gear transport, spares, and permits — everything’s taken care of. You can ride one of our Honda CRF450RLs or bring your own bike. Either way, this ride is the real deal.

We’re excited to introduce our new fleet of Honda CRF450RLs at Ellwood Motorcycle Adventures! After two years of testing these bikes in Cape York’s toughest conditions, we’re confident they’re the perfect fit for the kind of riding we do.
The CRF450RL is a versatile, adventure-ready bike that handles everything from technical trails to open stretches with ease. With adjustable Showa suspension, a tuned ECU for smooth power delivery, a 6-speed gearbox, and fuel injection, these bikes are built for reliability and performance.
One of the things we love most about them is their adaptability. We can lower them, adjust the suspension for your weight and height, and fine-tune the setup to suit your riding ability. Whether you’re an experienced off-roader or new to adventure riding, these bikes are easy to ride, confidence-inspiring, and ready for the journey ahead.

We recommend that a good level of skill and fitness is required to enjoy this tour. If you’ve joined us on any of our other amazing tour options, you’ll know we can cater for almost any level of rider experience as we have multiple guides and can split groups if required. The Red Centre Outback Tour is a little different, as there are limited opportunities to split the group when the terrain gets challenging. This ride includes a mix of desert tracks, rocky climbs, sandy sections and station roads, so previous off-road experience is essential. If you are a beginner-level rider, we strongly recommend getting some riding training before joining us on this tour. The more experience and time you’ve had on the bike, the more you’ll enjoy it.

Both hire and BYO bike options are available. If you bring your own bike, you'll need to supply your own camping gear, including a tent and mattress. For those hiring a bike, all camping gear is provided. This is a fully supported trail bike tour, with our support truck carrying your gear and a fully stocked esky, meeting you at the campsite each day.
Your bike will need to be in good order to tackle 7 days across the remote Red Centre, and we can provide advice on bike set up if required.

We offer 16 Honda CRF450RL bikes for hire. Each rental includes all camping gear, such as a tent and air mattress.
